This policy declares the data collected in two (2) data groups, "access log information" and "user registration". The data practices of each group will be explained separately.
Ramius-hosted websites create access logs containing the following information:
This data will be used for the following purposes:
This data will be used by Ramius Corporation and our direct agents only. It will not be sold or shared with third-parties unless it is in an aggregate format that does not expose user-identifiable information.
Ramius-hosted websites collect user-identifiable information from its end users, including:
This data will be used for the following purposes:
The webistes require each user to be uniquely identified. When a Ramius service is purchased and operated by a Ramius customer, that information is exposed to that site operator (i.e., the "Service Provider Customer").
User profile information is exposed only within the context of the given site. Users either opt-in to "join" a site or may be pre-registered as a site administrator. User profile information may also be exposed in a shared user directory within the site.
Site users are provided control over the disclosure of the above profile data. Ramius and Service Provider Customers have the option to make a minimum amount of profile data mandatory. Users can opt-out of a site at any time. To do so, the user should visit the site and login. After loggging in, the user can select "Cancel Membership" to leave a particular community or can select "Deactivate Account" from the account area.
Cookies are a technology which can be used to provide you with tailored information from a Web site. A cookie is an element of data that a Web site can send to your browser, which may then store it on your system. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it.
Ramius-hosted applications make use of HTTP cookies. The name of each cookie and its purpose is described below:
The session cookie ("JESSIONID") is used to track a user's current state (it avoids a user having to login for every single page requested).
The load-balancing cookie ("BIGipServer") is used to track the physical Web server that is currently storing the user's session information in its memory (it also avoids a user having to login for every single page requested).
At Sixent.com, a cookie ("rm-user-key") is set during the login process if a user selects the "Remember Me" option. At a CommunityZero site, there are two cookies for this purpose ("strUserName" and "strEncPassword"). These are persistent (long-lasting) cookies are stored by the user's Web browser beyond the current session. The cookies are used to automatically authenticate the user on subsequent visits from the same computer (using the same Web browser). The cookie can be removed at anytime by selecting "sign out" or "logout" from the site.
At Sixent.com, three additional cookies ("__utma", "__utmb" and "__utmc") are set by a website traffic analysis tool that is used to manage the click-stream data cited earlier.
All cookies other than the "Remember Me" cookies are "session cookies". Session cookies are automatically deleted when the user closes all his/her Web browser windows.
