Interface Designer
Ramius® Corporation — headquartered in Ottawa, Canada — develops and delivers social software that improves group communication and streamlines business processes. Ramius' core product suite — CommunityZero® — is a feature-rich, robust and scalable Web-based application built entirely in Java.
Ramius is searching for a talented Interface Designer to join us as we create a new future in online collaboration. As a part of our growing and dynamic development team, you will set the standard for the user experience: visual design and interaction design.
Responsibilities
- Research user requirements through customer and stakeholder discussions
- Participate in creative brainstorming
- Define and develop project objectives, implementing project milestones in conjunction with the development team.
- Apply user interaction principles and demonstrate an accomplished understanding of user centered design
- Produce conceptual storyboards, page wireframes and interface demonstrations to communicate interaction and design ideas
- Produce a final design which developers will convert into HTML / CSS / JavaScript and Java
- Oversee the integration your designs to ensure the desired user experience is met
- Produce and manage all required image assets
- Collaborate with external illustrators and designers (e.g. production of icons or logos)
- Establish design standards in collaboration with project lead
- Develop style guidelines to allow easy usage by developers and for designers
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience working in interactive design
- Design portfolio demonstrating passion and enthusiasm for multi-discipline design techniques including graphic design and user interface design
- Ability to manage the concept, production, and delivery of complex design projects from inception to completion with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate and maintain consistent and compelling visual style
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to develop and adhere to requirements
- Strong attention to detail
