CommunityZero Advantage Privacy Policy

Our Statement on Privacy and Security of Information

Ramius Corporation (“Ramius”), the developer and operator of CommunityZero Advantage, is absolutely committed to protecting the privacy of our users' personal information. The following statement explains our information gathering and dissemination practices.

Information Collected

When you register with CommunityZero Advantage, our registration form requires you to disclose your name, sex, and email address ("registration data"). You also have the option to disclose a personal profile, your website URL, and your interests and hobbies. These disclosures are optional and are not required to register. As part of your registration, you will be asked to select a user name and password for use at CommunityZero Advantage.

Use of Information

The registration data — including name, defined alias, and email address — is used by our service to identify you and your contributions to the system. A valid email address is required by our service to provide you with updated information from CommunityZero Advantage, including community activity updates, requested search results, invitations, and service information. You may limit disclosure of your registration data throughout the system by selecting options within your profile, accessible in the "My Communities" section under "Edit Profile".

Demographic and profile data is used to personalize our service to your interests and to deliver personalized information to you.

Demographic and profile data may be shared with partners such as investors and advertisers on an aggregate basis. Ramius does not disclose personally identifiable information about our members.

Use of Cookies

A cookie is a file that is written to your hard drive when you access certain web pages. We use cookies to personalize our service to your interests and to ensure data security. Upon logging in or entering a community, cookies are set to authorize you during your session. All cookies will expire when you close your browser. Data stored in cookies is encrypted to prevent tampering. Cookies identify you as you navigate the system to ensure all community rights and permissions are respected (i.e. you can only enter communities that you have been permitted to join).

Log Files

Logs of website traffic are collected and include information such as IP addresses, browser types and cookie information. This information is collected to analyze trends, administer the site and to calculate overall activity. Personally identifiable traffic patterns are not disclosed to community founders or third parties.

Public Information

Some communities are open for the public to join without restrictions. Please remember that any information disclosed in these communities becomes public information and you should exercise caution in disclosing your personal information when joining such communities.

Security

This website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. The information collected by our service is stored in a secure operating environment that cannot be accessed by the public.

Opt-Out, Delete/Deactivate

Users of CommunityZero Advantage can deactivate their user accounts at any time. To deactivate your account, see the bottom of the "Edit My Profile" page within the "My Communities" section.

Community updates (an email sent from each community joined) may be deactivated by selecting "Preferences" within each community and setting "Activity Updates" to "Never Send".

Users can set the amount of personal information they reveal on a per community basis. These settings can be changed by selecting "Preferences" within each community and selecting the desired "Privacy Setting".

The monthly CommunityZero Advantage newsletter contains an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email. Following this link instantly removed the user from the newsletter mailing list.

Members can "opt-out" of receiving general email communications by clicking on "My Communities" and then "Edit Profile". On the edit profile page, de-select "Receive important news about this service".

The "Who's On" tool can report members as being "online" upon entering a community. Users must explicitly activate this feature and can also de-activate it at any time.

If unwanted messages are received through the Community Messenger, users can immediately block the member from sending additional messages by pressing the "Block" button the offending message is on-screen. Users may also right-click on any user name listed in the Community Messenger and select "Block". Members cannot send messages to other members who have them blocked.

Correct/Update

CommunityZero Advantage allows users the option to change all information previously provided. To make changes to registration data, select "Edit My Profile" from within the "My Communities" section, then proceed to make the required changes.

Privacy Policy Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy for CommunityZero Advantage, we will post those changes prominently on our website so that users will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will disclose it to anyone. If we ever change the way we collect or use personally identifiable information, we will e-mail our users noting the change and give our users the option to opt-out of such a change.
